About our speaker: Julia Wallin Billings holds an M.A. from the John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. As a social entrepreneur, Julia has nearly a decade of experience working with and alongside vulnerable communities in fragile parts of the world, including Afghanistan, Gaza, India, and Syria. She founded her own non-profit 501©3 to help community leaders in these conflict zones to develop tangible projects for improvements in health, shelter, food and livelihoods for women across the globe. Julia speaks Arabic and lives in Tucson, Arizona, where she remotely advises a large INGO on corporate and foundation philanthropy. She spends her weekends road biking and exploring taco shops with her husband, Tylor.
