Nepal: Four Years On

Four years ago, a powerful earthquake and its aftershocks killed nearly 9,000 people in Nepal, a third of whom were children — a devastating moment for the country and the world.

UNICEF immediately deployed pre-positioned supplies to offer affected children and families lifesaving access to health services, safe water, and hygiene kits. In the following weeks, UNICEF carried out vaccination campaigns and set up temporary learning centers so that children could resume their education. And in the years since, UNICEF has helped vulnerable communities build resiliency against future natural disasters.

This video from our colleagues at UNICEF Nepal shows how the country is building back better.

Today, we thank you again for your incredible support. You truly made a difference for the children of Nepal.
