About our Speaker: Karin Shipman is the founder and president of EGI Development, LLC. EGI provides consulting and technical support to emerging businesses in developing countries, with a focus on areas such as communications, marketing, and business strategy. EGI develops and implements strategies and training programs to advance entrepreneurs in the Micro and Small Handcraft and Agribusiness sectors.
EGI has supported entrepreneurs in Central and South America, Southeast Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Caribbean Region with a special focus on Haiti. Among EGI’s clients are: The World Bank, The U.S. Agency for International Development/USAID, International Finance Corporation/IFC, and the Inter-American Development Bank. Karin co-founded the Entrepreneurs in Handcrafts (EinH) program at Vital Voices Global Partnership and served as Senior Director of the program from 2012-2013.
Karin was the keynote speaker at Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, addressing 300 rural women entrepreneurs. Karin supported 100 women entrepreneurs from the Palestinian territories and Jerusalem by providing market-readiness training.
