Brown Bag Series: TEP Renewable Energy 101

Justin Orkney will review TEP's existing renewable energy portfolio, challenges that TEP is facing, as well as TEP's plans for what's next.

Justin is a native Arizonan who has been in the renewable energy industry for nearly 10 years. After graduating from the University of Arizona with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, he worked nearly 6 years at a local design and construction firm specializing in solar energy systems. Justin has worked in the Renewable Energy Resources Department at Tucson Electric Power Co. (TEP) for over 3.5 years. His work has him managing and overseeing TEP's distributed generation programs - commonly referred to as rooftop solar and community solar. His combined solar and utility experience gives him great insight into the renewable energy transition that is taking place across the nation and specifically here in Tucson.
